So home improvements are not really our “thing” but since my daughter is getting older and took our furniture with her over the summer for an internship, we decided maybe it was time to take down the PowerPuff girls that once inhabited this room and make it more inviting to guests who stay here from time to time.
This is the “after” pictures and I am so pleased with how it turned out. I followed a sketch from The Memory Nest and the color scheme was perfect for a Mood Board Challenge at A Cherry on Top.
Here is the sketch and Mood Board…
And here is what I came up with…
I’m not sure what our next project will be, but I certainly have the decorating bug now!!

What a nice surprise to find that my Glo Run layout had been featured at Challenge YOUrself blog!! This was a super fun race with some amazing people!! So here is my badge…
If you haven’t stopped over to this challenge blog, you should. It’s a great reminder to step out from behind the camera and take some time IN FRONT of it!! You are part of the memories you scrap!
Well, it looks like I am having fun scrapping some of my race photos from previous years. It seems there is a race with a different theme about every month (I’m currently signed up for a Hot Cider Run in November!!). So this was The Glo Run…and it was 80s themed. So we made our neon tutu’s and hit the trail! It was really fun!
This layout seemed to fit several challenges out there so I am listing them all here because they are all fantastic challenge blogs!
The first is a rewind sketch challenge by Rochelle Spears. Here is the amazing sketch:
Here is one of the other challenges that I used as inspiration. The Wacky Holiday Challenge. Because I rarely scrap myself, I also wanted to utilize the challenge at Challenge YOUself blog which was to use a die cut. I designed the glasses and Title with my Pazzle and cut the stars from my Sizzix (old school style!) Finally, I just discovered this awesome blog…it’s Cut It Up and the theme was friendship. So here is my layout…
I had a great time digging through my stash for some old bling and combining it with my new Emoji papers!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hey everyone!! It’s time for the reveal of the double page sketch at Stick It Down Challenge blog! Here is the amazing sketch…
This month I decided to get caught up on some of my pet pictures. This is Annee, our sweet beagle. My husband was sitting by her a few months ago and caught these cute candid shots that truly capture her personality.
On this layout, I tried a couple different techniques than I usually do. I decided the main picture of Annee was just too cute, so I wanted to feature it in some way. So I blew it up to an 8×10 and cut around it so that she really popped off the page. I added dimensional adhesive to mount the photo higher than my other photos.
I also created a paw print mask with a punch. Using some of my scrap paper, I punched a couple paw prints in them. I was originally going to use the punched materials, but realized I could use the punched paper as a mask instead. It worked like a charm! You can use textural paints or just an ink pad. Both work GREAT!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you get a chance to play along with us this month! Check out the awesome prize…
Make sure to follow my blog for more fun this month!
Only 144 days!!
OK, so I missed July, but I’m only a couple days late, right? That’s actually pretty good for me! 🙂 I took on a Pinterest challenge at A Cherry On Top to scrap my Christmas morning pictures!
Here is the layout we were given for inspiration (I’m sorry, I don’t know the source…so if this is your work…you did an AMAZING job!!)
And here is what I did with it…
I only had 2 pictures that I wanted to use, so I made the other squares from Photoplay patterned paper…adn I think the camera paper is Studio Calico. I recently reorganized my stash and had put all my Christmas papers/embellishments together…I’m so glad I did because it was WAY easier to find what I needed!! I made the hat on my Pazzle. It was actually on a penguin, but I just wanted this style Santa hat…so I just cut that. I’m not a big machine sewing kind of gal, so my and my Sharpie did some faux stitching on this.
Anyway…thanks for stopping by! I am hosting another Pinterest Challenge at ACOT. The winner receives a $5 gift certificate to the store…so come on by and play along!! If you do…let me know you found the challenge on my blog!
Hey all! I’m back again with another layout to share! This time, the layout is actually about ME. Crazy, right? Who scraps themselves anymore? Well, I have been trying, but I have to be honest and say my BOM is the smallest album in the house. But I am trying to get in FRONT of the camera more…so baby steps!
This layout was inspired by a challenge to use a quote about chocolate. A couple years ago I ran the Cupid Chocolate Chase 5K in February and it was only 5 degrees out. It was COLD…but apparently I can be bribed with chocolate and the thought of running with a good friend (also shown in the layout…Hi Chantell!!).
In the spirit of scrapping myself, I used a prompt at Challenge YOUself to use my handwriting. The layout was getting a bit busy, so I layered over some space on one of the photos…I think I might do that again sometime because I like the effects.
I continue to stash dive as well. The tree paper is Prima and the other papers are Fancy Pants. I bought those cute little mugs at a convention a few years back…who knew I would put them on a running layout. The quotes are also Teresa Collins. I wanted to use them, but the tags were too much, so I cut them down.
I am also trying to figure out how to share cutting files. I’m new to WordPress so bare with me! I promise to get this figured out and will begin posting at least one new cut file each month…so follow along!
Thanks for stopping by!
…you go to Gatlinburg to celebrate!!
I wanted to share this fun layout with you today on the blog. It was done as part of a Holiday challenge at A Cherry On Top. Now I know what you are thinking…this doesn’t look like a holiday, but the challenge was to include inspiration from a list of unique holidays from Margarita Day (probably my favorite holiday) to Hot Dog Day and Cheesecake Day!
My daughter and I went to Gatlinburg to celebrate her 21st birthday and let me just tell you, by the time we got to the restaurant, we had hit EVERY winery and distillery on the strip. It was a blast and I would love to go back. If you have never been to Dick’s Last Resort, the bartendars/waitstaff are intentionally mean to you…which is especially funny for a person celebrating their 21st birthday! (Note the hats we “earned”). The food is good, too!
For this layout, I did a lot of stash diving…I went for some OLD Lily Bee paper and various embellishments I could pull from my stash (including some cute washi strips). I print/cut the Dick’s sign and popped it up on pop dots.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Feel free to follow to keep updated on challenges, posts and just stuff. I am planning to add some SVG files to share as well…so stay tuned!
So I’m trying to do a better job of posting on my blog lately, so I thought I would share a layout I have been working on. It’s not really typical for me as I have gotten away from Disney and school for a minute to get caught up on every day life! Weird, huh? 🙂
A few years back we had the opportunity to catch up with some cousins and spend a family day at the lake. It was so nice because our kids are close in age and this isn’t really typical of a lot of the cousins the in the family (our kids are sort of in the middle). So it was nice to spend a relaxing day out on the lake and sharing a nice meal together.
I used primarily Paper House Production Lake Life on this, but have also been trying something new. When I do a layout, I have been leaving out my scraps and trying to incorporate them onto other layouts to use them up so I don’t have a ton of extras. My scrap pile is HUGE so I’m trying to actually use it up as I go along. I can’t honestly say I have made much of a dent in the actual pile, but at least I’m not contributing to it as much!
So here is my layout…
it’s based on this Mood Board:
for a challenge at A Cherry on Top …my favorite scrappy hang out! Thanks so much for stopping by! If you’d like to see more of my work…please follow my blog! I promise to get something posted at least every week! And stay tuned…the 2 page sketch reveal for Stick It Down is just a little more than a week away!
I am excited to announce that I have been chosen to be one of the double-page designers for Stick It Down Sketch Blog! Since leaving the world of scrapbooking to go to Grad School, I have missed being on teams and this is my first one back. To be to be able to do double-pages which are my true love, is icing on the cake!!
Check out July’s Sketch:
Make sure to stop by and try the sketch. The prize this month is awesome!!
This is my take on it. I figured since my daughter is graduating in the spring and even starting to apply for “adult jobs”, perhaps I should get her college album completed! One page done! (check) I have to admit, scrapping adult children is harder than I thought. I took the pictures on the first page, but I sort of “borrowed” the large team picture from her Facebook page. A scrappy mom’s gotta do, what a scrappy mom’s gotta do, right?
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Please make sure to follow so that you can see updates of all my sketches!
